Library

Products, categories and codes, rooms and allowances, spec numbers, and statuses and tags.

Written By Julia M.

These pages set up your Library: categories, rooms and their placeholders, how spec numbers are built, and product statuses.

Watch it: the Settings lesson in Campus, step 10, “Library” (1:57). Each section below names its chapter.

Products

Settings › Studio › Library › Products

Watch it: step 10, chapter 1, “Products” (starts at 0:09).

Decide whether vendor discounts come off the unit cost or the list price, and whether you share them with clients. This page also keeps estimates in step with the Library.

Categories and codes

Settings › Studio › Library › Categories

Watch it: step 10, chapter 2, “Categories and codes” (starts at 0:23).

Settings › Studio › Library › Categories, Categories and codes

Categories are on the left, each with its spec code. Pick one to set up its subcategories.

A subcategory can have its own code. Leave it blank and it uses its category's.

Every code has to be different. If one is already used by a room or another category, it turns red and tells you where.

Rooms and allowances

Settings › Studio › Library › Rooms and allowances

Watch it: step 10, chapter 3, “Rooms and allowances” (starts at 0:47).

Settings › Studio › Library › Rooms and allowances, Rooms and allowances

Your rooms, with their codes. Pick one to see the pieces it usually takes.

Each placeholder has an image, a category, a quantity, a budget and a markup. It seeds a budgeted item in every new project with that room.

Select a few to raise their markup or budget at once, or fill an empty room with suggested placeholders.

Spec numbers

Settings › Studio › Library › Specs

Watch it: step 10, chapter 4, “Spec numbers” (starts at 1:17).

Settings › Studio › Library › Specs, Spec numbers

Decide how a product's number is built. Tick the codes it uses and drag them into the order you want.

Looks like shows the result. A code never repeats, and numbers already given never change.

Statuses and tags

Settings › Studio › Library › Statuses

Watch it: step 10, chapter 5, “Statuses and tags” (starts at 1:35).

Settings › Studio › Library › Statuses, Statuses and tags

Each product status has a color, and what the client sees, like On order instead of In PO.

Each status has its own tags. Add one with + tag and pick its color.
