How to invoice your time entries

Billable time waits in Ready to invoice until it is on an invoice. Tick it and make a draft.

Written By Julia M.

Overview

Billable time your team logs waits in Finances › Client billing › Ready to invoice until it is on an invoice. You don’t add time to an invoice by hand.

Watch it: the Finances lesson in Campus, step 5, “Time and expenses”, chapter 1, “Ready to invoice” (starts at 0:09) and chapter 2, “Rates and No rate” (starts at 0:34).

Before you start

  • The time is logged against the project, and marked billable.

  • It has a service type, so Workroom can find its rate.

Steps

  1. Go to Finances › Client billing › Ready to invoice. To see only time, set the type filter to Time.

Ready to invoice with time and expenses waiting
  1. Tick the entries you want to bill.

  2. Click Generate draft invoices for one draft per project, or Add to existing draft.

  3. Open the draft, check it, and send it.

If an entry says No rate

Click Set a rate, or Set a service type for time with no service. It can’t be billed until it has a rate.
