Bills: from a vendor’s invoice

Turn a vendor’s invoice into a bill linked to its purchase order. Walter reads the invoice for you.

Written By Julia M.

Overview

Every purchase starts as a purchase order. When the vendor’s invoice comes in, it becomes a bill linked to that order.

Watch it: the Finances lesson in Campus, step 7, “Bills and what vendors charge”, chapter 1, “PO first, bill after” (starts at 0:08) and chapter 2, “Walter reads their invoice” (starts at 0:25).

The Bills tab

Finances › Procurement › Bills shows what is to pay, what is overdue, what is due this month, what is waiting for sign-off, and what still needs matching to its order.

Make a bill

  1. Click New bill, or start it from the purchase order.

  2. Drop the vendor’s invoice on the bill. Walter reads it and fills in the vendor, their invoice number, the date and the lines.

  3. He highlights what he filled in, so you can check it before you save.

  4. Save as draft, Submit for sign-off, or Save and sign off.
